1959

The waerag factory was founded by Engineer Albin Zwach, in cooperation with a group of engineers for the purpose of designing and marketing ventilation systems for the paper industry. At the time, ventilations technology was traded like a stepchild of the paper manufacturers. Shortly thereafter the company moved to Traiskirchen where it built up its own manufactoring facilities. The waerag employees constructed the world`s first completely enclosed hood and the waerag "heat recovery towers" become distinctive marks for many paper factories throughout the world.

1990

waerag Italia s.r.l. in Mailand was founded.
1996 Reorganisation of the waerag Plannning Ltd. by Ing. Christian Zwach, with the headoffice in Vienna
